Bristol, England in the American Revolutionary War

Bristol is a city in southwest England, divided between the historic counties of Gloucestershire and Somerset. It was established as a town in 1155. It served as the namesake for the town of Bristol, Rhode Island (see the rest of this website) and HMS Bristol, a Royal Navy warship in service during the Revolutionary War. Men from Bristol served on both sides of the war.
