Archibald Munro

Archibald Munro (1746-1812) was the sixth child of Simeon Munro and Rebecca Wardwell. He was baptized in St. Michael’s Anglican Church. He was a cordwainer by trade. In 1769, he married Rebecca Smith. Archibald and Rebecca had five children: Mary, George, Rebecca, Jeremiah, and Josiah. Archibald was counted as a head of household in the 1774 Rhode Island Census. During the Revolution, he served in William Throope‘s Company of Bristol Militia. In 1806, he left Bristol to go on a “journey”. At the time of his death, Archibald’s estate was valued at a total of $927.79.
