“Annals of Bristol” is a series of articles published in the Bristol Phenix (Phoenix, as it is now known) over the course of several months in 1845, telling the history of the Town of Bristol, Rhode Island as it was then understood. An easily readable edition of this series was not easily found by the editor of this website, so a transcription is being produced here. Older histories are not necessarily always reliable, and frequently contain problems of various sorts, yet they provide interesting context, particularly about the world in which the authors lived.
