Christopher Lippitt’s Regiment

Christopher Lippitt of Cranston commanded a regiment of Rhode Island troops during the New York Campaign of 1776. They arrived at George Washington’s camp in early October and continued south with the main army. They were not part of the force that crossed the Delaware River with Washington.  The Regiment was disbanded in early 1777.
