In 1781, Rhode Island’s two Continental regiments were combined into one for the second time. This new Regiment was originally commanded by Christopher Greene, who had previously commanded the First Rhode Island Regiment. They served at Yorktown and existed until the end of the war in 1783. People from Bristol served in Olney’s Battalion as long as it existed.
Known people from Bristol who served in Olney’s Battalion include:
Serjeants: John Bowles, Philip Drowne, James Mitchell
Privates: Isaac Ballone, Scipeo DeWolf, William Gladding, Richard Grant, Prince Ingraham, James Johnson, David Maxfield, John Mitchell, Solomon Roffey, Bernard Salisbury, Plato Van Doorn
