Joseph Oldridge (circa 1762-1802) was a cordwainer from Bristol. He was married to a woman named Elizabeth, with whom he had a son named Joseph. During the 1778 Rhode Island Campaign, Joseph served in William Throope‘s Company of Bristol Militia Joseph was likely the namesake of Joseph Oldridge Waldron, the eldest child of George Waldron and his wife Sarah.
Joseph Oldridge (the Revolutionary War veteran) could be confused for Joseph Oldridge (born 1752), a child of William Oldridge and Katherine Munro, who died at sea in 1774.
