Prince Ingraham

Prince Ingraham was an enslaved man belonging to Jeremiah Ingraham, a captain of the Bristol Militia. Prince served in Christopher Greene’s First Rhode Island Regiment from beginning in 1777. He was sick and absent from the regiment in July, 1779. In 1781, he briefly served in the Rhode Island Battalion. In preparation for the Siege of Yorktown, he was transferred  to the Corps of Sappers and Miners to work on building fortifications.
