Stephen Talby

Stephen Talby (or Talbee, Talbey, 1756-1842) was the fifth child of Edward Talby and Anstis Waldron. He was baptized in the Congregational Church. In 1777, he served for three months in Robert Elliott’s Artillery Regiment. In 1778, Stephen served in William Throope‘s Company of Bristol Militia. Two months of his militia service were spent in Barrington. In 1780, he was part of a militia force deployed to Prudence Island. After the war, he worked as a housewright. In 1799, Stephen became ensign of the Bristol Militia Company. He was married to a woman named Mary. In 1832, he applied for a pension, receiving $65.81 per year.
