Sylvana Americana Downer (born 1767) was the fifth child of Silas Downer and Sarah Kelton of Providence. In 1793, she married John Burrough. John served as lieutenant in the First Providence Militia Company in 1789 and 1790. He was counted as a head of household in Providence in the 1790, 1800, and 1810 United States Censuses.
