Thomas Throope (1710-1771) was the fourth child of Thomas Throope and his wife Abigail. He served for decades as the clerk for the Bristol County Court. He held this position until his death. Thomas married Mary Billings of Little Compton in 1733. Thomas and Mary had six children: Hannah, Billings, Mary, William, Abigail, and Sarah. Mary Billings died in 1743. In 1744, Thomas remarried to Elizabeth Man of Wrentham. Thomas and Elizabeth had 12 children: Samuel, Esther, Elizabeth, Lydia, an unnamed daughter, Jerusha, Thomas, George, Susannah, George, Benjamin, and Abigail. Thomas is buried at the East Burial Ground in Bristol.
