First Congregational Church

The First Congregational Church is the oldest church in Bristol, founded at the same time as the town itself. It was originally known as the Catholic Congregational Society. The current church building stands on High Street, one block north of the Town Common. After the Revolution, the church was led by the Reverend Henry Wight, a revolutionary veteran originally from Medfield, Massachusetts. The First Congregational Church is now part of the United Church of Christ.
