Ichabod Williston (or Willistone, Willingstone 1750-1838) was from Tiverton. He was a son of Judah Williston. In 1772, he married Elizabeth Sanford. Ichabod and Elizabeth had six children: Judah, Hannah, Casey, Sarah, Job, and Pardon. While in the local militia company in 1776, Ichabod briefly served in Newport, until that city was captured by the British. He was involved in Joseph Spencer’s Expedition in 1777, and John Sullivan’s Rhode Island Campaign in 1778. After the war, he remained in Tiverton. He applied for a pension in 1833, receiving $71.67 per year. Ichabod Williston’s name appears on Bristol’s Revolutionary War monument.
