Abigail Atwood et al

Abigail “Abby” Atwood (circa 1798-1822) was a child of Sheffield Atwood and Lydia DeWolf. In 1816, she married Hersey Bradford (circa 1770-1849), a child of William Bradford. Hersey had previously been married in 1800 to Abigail DeWolf (1776-1803), the third child of Charles DeWolf and Mary Taylor. Abby and Hersey had at least two children: Serephine (or Serephina) and Hersey. Abby was baptized in Saint Michael’s Church two months before her death. Hersey had been a director of the Bristol Insurance Company in 1802. He was in business with one of the Johns DeWolf. He was a director of the Bank of Bristol in 1826. In 1831, Hersey was the collector of taxes in Bristol. In 1838, a $100 reward was offered for the capture of criminals who had stolen the stone steps of the Bradford house. Hersey died in Middletown.
