Peleg Cranston (died 1795) was from Warren. During the Revolution, he served in the Warren Militia Company. In 1779, he served as captain of marines aboard the privateer boat Bradford. In 1780, Peleg enlisted for six months in Christopher Greene’s Regiment. He then served for one month in 1781 in a company commanded by Viall Allen on Aquidneck Island. He married Mary Cobb at the Congregational Church in Barrington in 1793. Peleg and Mary had a son named Ira. Peleg died at sea. In 1839, Mary applied for a pension for his service, receiving $23.33 per year.
